Found out last week that most 'professional' clipper blades are sharpened at 50 degrees, not 30

I was looking up how to get my Andis blades sharper and found a blog by a guy in Ohio who tests them with a microscope. He showed that factory blades from Wahl and Oster are usually ground at 50 degrees for durability, not cutting performance. I sharpened my own set to 45 degrees and the difference on thick hair is huge, no more tugging. Has anyone else tried adjusting the angle on their own blades?

Did you check if the blade drive or spring was worn out before you reground them? A lot of times people think it's the blade angle but the real problem is the clipper losing power under load. What kind of stone or jig did you use to keep that 45 degree angle consistent across the blade?

The 45 degree angle is actually measured per side so that's a 90 degree total bevel.
