I finally figured out my clipper lines were always off because of my thumb.

For years, my fades had a slight tilt on the right side, and a client in Denver last month straight up asked if my level was broken. I watched my reflection and saw I was pushing the lever with my thumb at a weird angle, putting uneven pressure. Do you guys have a specific finger you use to work the lever for a straight line?

Oh man, that's such a classic hidden mistake. So are you using just your thumb on the lever now, or did you switch to a different finger to fix the angle? I'm trying to picture the grip.

Yeah I messed that up for months before someone pointed it out. Switched to my index finger on the lever, thumb just anchors on the bar. Lets you pull straight back without that weird wrist angle. Feels way more solid now, like you're not fighting the bike.

Index finger on the lever made a huge difference for me too. It just gives you more control and a straighter pull. Took a couple rides to get used to, but now it feels totally natural.
