Just wasted $150 on a set of thinning shears that started rusting after two weeks.
I mean, I got them because the price seemed decent and the reviews were okay, but now I'm stuck with these spotty blades and a client tomorrow, so has anyone found a brand that actually holds up?

Yoshimiya shears from Japan are my go-to, and I'm on year four with zero rust issues. But I also store them in a dry case with those little silica gel packets, not just tossing them in a drawer. Your mileage may vary of course, but maybe check if the humidity where you keep them is part of the problem before you spend again.

My Joewell shears lasted five years.

Three years is just not enough for a tool you use every day. It feels like they're built to fail right after the warranty ends. My last pair got all loose and wobbly, couldn't hold an edge. You expect better when you pay that much. It's frustrating because you rely on them for your work.
