My Lisbon trip reminded me how barber tools have shifted

I visited Lisbon last year and wandered into an old barber shop. They had manual clippers and those big leather chairs from decades ago. It made me think of my first job where we used similar equipment. Now, most shops have gone digital with quick change blades. That experience showed me how the basics of a good cut stay the same even when tools change.

My old barber still uses his manual clippers sometimes, and the cuts are just as clean. The new digital ones are faster, but they still need that same careful technique. It really is all about the person holding the tool.

Yeah, good tools help but a steady hand matters most. The fundamentals never really change.

But do those old basics even matter with today's tools?
