Overheard a barber at a trade show say he trims every other day instead of every day
I was at the Chicago Barber Expo last month and caught two older guys talking. One said he trims his own hair every other day with clippers to keep his shape sharp between cuts. He said it saves him 15 minutes a day and stops him from overcorrecting mistakes. I tried it for 2 weeks now and my fade lines actually stay cleaner longer. Has anyone else switched to a slower trim schedule and noticed a difference?

Have you tried spacing it out even more like every third day? I do that and my hair actually lays better without getting that over-trimmed look.

Oh totally @diana617, you're onto something there! It's funny how we're taught to trim on this strict schedule but everyone's hair just does its own thing. I notice the same pattern in other stuff too, like watering plants or even changing your oil. People swear by the calendar but your actual situation matters way more. My hair is on the coarser side and if I trim it every third day it starts looking choppy by the second week, but spacing it out to every fourth or fifth day keeps the shape way better without that barber shop helmet look.
