Spent $120 on that new cordless clipper and the battery died mid-fade on a $60 client

I was halfway through a skin fade on a regular who tips well, and the thing just quit on me, so now I'm stuck using backup corded clippers that pull like crazy, anyone else have a tool investment blow up in their face like that?

You know, I used to be all about throwing money at the latest cordless tools thinking they were the future. But after hearing stories like this and having a few of my own close calls, I've started to really appreciate the reliability of a solid corded setup. It's a tough lesson when you're in the middle of a job and the battery just gives out, especially on a good tipper. That's gotta be frustrating for you, did you end up finishing the cut or did you just have to reschedule him?

Forgetting to swap batteries before a big job is honestly more on you than the tool.

Take @jamie940's side here and say that battery tools have gotten good enough that forgetting to swap isn't a huge deal anymore. Most modern batteries give you plenty of warning before they die, and if you're running a pro setup you should have a spare ready to go anyway. It's really just a matter of having a system and sticking to it, not a knock on cordless tech.
