Stuck between a cordless clipper and a corded one last week

I've been using the same Wahl corded clipper for like 8 years and it finally gave out mid-haircut on a Thursday. I had two options at the supply shop: grab another corded model for $80 or try one of the cordless ones for around $150. I went cordless because I was tired of the cord getting in my way when I'm doing fades. First two cuts with it felt weird honestly, like the motor was weaker and the battery dipped after three heads. But after a full day of charging and using it again I got used to the feel and it's actually nice not fighting the cable. Has anyone else switched from corded to cordless and felt like the power difference is real or is it just me?

Yeah, cordless usually has less torque. Battery drain on first few charges is totally normal.

The battery chemistry needs a few full cycles to balance out and reach peak capacity. New lithium-ion packs often come with a partial charge from the factory too, so that first drain can feel extra quick. Has your drill's runtime been getting better after a few charges?
