Switched from clippers to shears for my taper today...

I always used my Wahl seniors for the transition but tried my 7 inch shears on a guy's high fade this morning and it looked way smoother, no line at all. Has anyone else made that switch or am I late to the party?

I mean I get why people like shears but honestly I'm not sold on them for tapers... I tried the switch a couple years ago and felt like I was losing control of the blend, especially on coarse hair where shears just want to grab and clump up. My clippers with a .5 or 1 guard still give me that clean fade line I can break up easy, shears felt like I was chasing the blend forever.

Bought a pair of cheap shears off Amazon a few months back just to try it out and now I don't touch my clippers for fades at all. Took me a while to get used to holding them right though.

One time I bought a "pro grade" pair of thinning shears on there and they literally fell apart in my hand after two weeks. The little screw just popped out and the blades went flying across the bathroom floor. Never did find that screw, still have no idea where it landed. Amazon shears are such a gamble, you either get a solid pair or a paperweight that wants to be a confetti cannon.
