Switched to a 30-year-old clipper after hating my modern one for months
I was about to drop $200 on a new cordless clipper when a barber in Brooklyn let me try his old Oster 76 from the 90s. That thing cut through thick hair like nothing and never bogged down once. Anyone else find older equipment actually works better for certain textures?

Older clippers are built like tanks, no question. But that Oster 76 is a corded beast meant for heavy barber work, so it's not really a fair fight against a modern cordless model. Those newer ones have to balance battery life, weight, and quiet motors against cutting power. Your old clipper might've just been underpowered to begin with.

Man, that makes a lot of sense actually. Good point.

Yeah totally, my old corded one outlasted two cordless models so far.
