Took me 4 months to figure out why my fades kept getting patchy

I was fighting with patchy fades for way too long and finally realized my clipper blades were dull on one side. Swapped to a fresh set of Wahl blades and it was like night and day. Has anyone else dealt with uneven wear on their guards before?

Fades aren't guards though, they're clipper blades.

right, i get what you're saying. but my old barber used to call all of it "clipper work" and i'd just nod like i knew what he meant. ended up getting the wrong cut half the time 'cause i couldn't describe a fade right.

Nah, @karen_sanchez49, but knowing the difference would've saved you that bad cut.
