Tried a new clipper blade on a client with thick hair and it just stopped cutting halfway through
I was using the Andis BGRC blade on a regular who has really dense hair, and about 15 minutes into the fade it just started pulling and skipping. I had to switch back to my old Wahl blade to finish. Has anyone else had this happen with a new blade on thick hair, and what do you do to break them in properly?

Sounds like your new blade got stage fright with all that hair.

Honestly could be the hair texture itself. Some really curly or coarse hair just binds up a blade differently than straight hair. Seen it happen with certain beard trimmers too, where the hair just wraps around the motor shaft. Might need to take it apart and check for little hair knots deep inside.

Ugh that's the worst. I had a new blade jam up on me once, turned out the guy used way too much product and it just gunked everything up lol. Maybe try running it through some thick conditioner on a mannequin first?

@murphy.mason mentioned hair wrapping, but nobody has checked if the blade gap is too narrow for your hair type.
