Tried a new way to hold my clippers and my hand feels way better
I saw a video from a barber in Chicago where he held his clippers with just his thumb and two fingers, not his whole hand. I tried it for a full day of cuts last week and my wrist didn't hurt at all by the end, which is a first for me. I think it forces you to use your arm more than your wrist for the motion. Has anyone else changed up their grip and had it help with pain?

Honestly that sounds like a gimmick lol. My hand would cramp up so bad trying to hold clippers with just three fingers all day.

What about the weight of your clippers? Lighter ones might make that grip work better.

Yeah I switched to a three finger grip last year and it was a game changer for my wrist. Keith900, you get used to it fast and the cramping stops once your muscles adjust. My only regret is not trying it sooner.

Man that wrist pain is no joke. I messed mine up pretty bad a few years back from gripping too tight all day. Three finger grip actually helped me too once I pushed through the first week of soreness. The lighter clippers tip is solid though, I noticed a huge difference when I switched to a smaller model. Hope your hand cooperates, it really does get better once your muscles stop fighting it.
