Vent: Why do new barbers skip the sectioning clips?

I watched a guy at the shop near Main Street try to fade a high school kid's head without clipping off the top hair at all. He kept fighting with the cowlick near the crown and had to redo his blend three times before giving up and buzzing it all down. How do you get through barber school without learning basic sectioning?

Guess he skipped sectioning day for the "fade fast" class.

Hold up, are we really gonna act like one bad haircut means the guy flunked barber school? I've seen legit cosmetologists goof up a simple trim when they're having an off day. It's one fade, not a whole career retrospective. Maybe he was rushing, maybe the client jerked their head, maybe the clipper guard just slipped. People act like every mistake is proof someone's a fraud, but sometimes it's just a bad day at work.

Man, that is just painful to watch. You gotta wonder if his instructor just handed out certificates with a handshake and a "good luck" at the end. @iris927 pretty much nailed it, probably skipped the "boring" class on the basics.
