DAE miss the days when bikes came with simple cup-and-cone bearings?
Every time I service a modern press-fit bottom bracket... I think about how easy loose ball bearings were. You could feel the wear, tweak the preload by hand... and get years of smooth spinning. Now it's all about special tools and parts you toss out... and it just doesn't feel the same. Makes me appreciate the old-school stuff even more.
