Fulcrum vs Shimano freehub noise finally clicked for me after a hub swap in my driveway

I was dead set on chasing a perfect silent freehub until I swapped a worn 6-bolt rotor onto an old Hope hub in my garage last Tuesday and the pawls started sounding like gravel in a blender, which made me realize that noise is actually feedback about bearing preload and grease viscosity, not a defect, so now I just listen instead of panic and I'm curious, has anyone else stopped fixing that ticking sound once they figured out what it was telling them?
