Just compared Park Tool and Shimano chain wear tools - big difference

Used both on the same chain last weekend and the Park Tool said 0.5% worn while Shimano said 0.75%. Shimano was right because the chain started skipping on my test ride. Anyone else notice Park Tool reads low like this?

Does Park Tool just calibrate their tools differently or something?

@kelly638 probably Park Tool wants you to buy a new chain twice as often.

Park Tool just wants to make sure I'm getting my money's worth out of my gym membership with all that chain replacement practice!
