Pedal threads had me stuck on grease until a costly mistake

For years, I used grease on pedal threads to stop them from seizing. After one crank arm got ruined from overtightening, I tried anti-seize paste instead. Now I see fewer seized pedals, but some folks argue grease works just as well with proper torque. What's your experience with this common shop debate?

Feel your pain on that costly mistake

Yeah, it stings. Lost a good chunk of change on a bad decision once. Was sure it was a sure thing, but it all fell apart. Ended up learning the hard way that sometimes you just have to cut your losses. It's all part of the process, I guess. Still bugs me when I remember.

Disagree with always cutting losses fast. Look at all those tech investors who held through crashes. They ended up way ahead by not selling in a panic. My cousin kept his losing crypto for years and it finally bounced back huge. Bailing early often means missing the rebound. Sticking it out can turn a mistake into a win.

Honestly, I used to totally agree with the idea of sticking it out for the rebound. But seeing "cut your losses" here made me realize how much money I've wasted waiting for dead things to come back. Tbh, taking a small loss early is way better than hoping for years.
