PSA: My wrench trick fixed a bent derailleur hanger fast
A bike came in with bad shifting. The hanger was bent. No alignment tool in the shop. Grabbed a big adjustable wrench. Tweaked it back slowly. Shifts smoothed out right away. Customer rode off happy. What's your backup fix for bent parts?

Honestly, how often do we just use whatever's around to fix stuff? Your wrench fix reminds me of using a dime for a tiny screwdriver when a toy breaks. I once straightened a curtain rod with a rubber mallet and some books. We all patch things up with quick fixes instead of waiting for the perfect tool. It's like a low key skill for dealing with broken things every day. Tbh, most of my house runs on these kind of temporary solutions.

Saw a show where they said most fixes are done with random stuff? Sounds about right.

That adjustable wrench trick is solid for a quick field fix. A big crescent wrench gives you enough leverage to make small, careful bends. Just go slow and check alignment often. It's exactly what @bailey.ray is talking about, using what you have to get things working.

Tried to fix my bike chain with a paperclip and some hope. Let's just say I walked a lot that week.
