Saw a huge difference after switching to wax chain lube on my commuter
I used to use the same wet lube for everything, and my chain was always black with grime after two weeks. Tried Squirt wax lube on my townie bike three months ago, and the drivetrain stays clean for over a month now. The real kicker was the shift quality on my 9-speed setup, it felt crisp and quiet compared to before. I only reapply after every third rainy ride, which saves me a ton of time cleaning. Has anyone else noticed their cassette lasting longer with wax-based lubes?

Yep, switched to wax last year and my cassette is definitely going stronger.

Squirt's technically a drip wax, not a true wax lube - but still good stuff.

Oh, I have to push back a bit here. I've been using regular wax lubes for years and honestly, Squirt has held up better for me in wet conditions than any true wax I've tried. The drip consistency is actually a bonus in my book - it lets me target the chain links way more precisely than dipping or spraying. And as for longevity, I get the same mileage out of a Squirt application as I did with those fancy German waxes that cost twice as much. I know the purists love their immersion waxing, but I just don't see the big difference in real world riding.
