The weird before and after I saw in my chain wear after switching to a different brand of lube

I used the same cheap wax lube for 2 years and was replacing chains every 400 miles, then I tried a $12 bottle of Squirt and my last chain went 1,100 miles before it was toast, has anyone else seen that big of a jump just from changing what you drip on the rollers?

Holy crap, 1,100 miles from one chain just by switching lube? That's a massive difference, like 3x the lifespan you were getting before. I've seen people claim better lube helps but that kind of jump sounds almost too good to be true.

Stick with a wax-based drip lube like Squirt or Smoove, @kimr74, and scrub your chain clean between applications for real results.

Notice how this applies to so many things in life (like cheap tools vs mid-range ones) where you pay a little more up front and get way more out of it in the long run. It's one of those things where you don't realize how much the "cheap" option is costing you until you try something slightly better.
