Why does nobody talk about the middle seasons?
I finally got around to finishing a show I started back in March, one of those long crime dramas everyone raves about. But the real struggle wasn't the ending, it was the slog through season 4 and 5, maybe 20 episodes that just felt like filler. Took me three weeks to get through what should have been a weekend binge, I kept falling asleep on the couch around 10 pm. Then out of nowhere, season 6 picked up and I blew through the last 10 episodes in two sittings. It got me thinking, why do we always talk about great premieres and finales but never warn people about that middle stretch? Has anyone else hit that wall where you almost quit a show, only to be glad you pushed through it, or did you just drop it entirely?
