Burned 3 evenings on a show with a great trailer but terrible payoff

I got hooked by the trailer for "Eclipse Point" on a streaming service last week. Looked like a cool sci-fi thriller with big twists. I watched 4 episodes in one night and it was all setup, no substance. By episode 5 the plot holes were massive and characters started doing stuff that made zero sense. I kept thinking it would get better but it just got worse. Wasted about 9 hours total before I finally quit. The worst part is I could have been watching something actually good like Dark Matter or Silo. Anybody else fall for a flashy trailer only to regret the time investment?

Dropped 4 nights on a similar one called "Starfall" - same deal, trailer was incredible but by episode 3 the plot was basically a washing machine cycle. Still mad about it.

Set a two episode limit before committing to any new show.

Yeah, that's smart. I've been burned way too many times by shows that look great but fall apart after the first couple episodes. Two episodes is a solid rule.
