Finally finished that 7 season show I started 3 years ago
I started watching this long drama series back in early 2021 when I was stuck at home after a surgery. Got through like 4 seasons that summer and then just stopped for no real reason. Last month I randomly picked it back up and decided to just power through the last 3 seasons. It took me about 6 weeks because I could only watch a couple episodes a night after work. I actually missed a whole subplot with a side character because it had been so long since I saw the middle seasons. The ending was kind of mixed honestly, some parts felt rushed but the last episode made me tear up a bit. Has anyone else gone back to a show after a huge gap and felt like it hit different the second time around?

Wait, did you forget enough plot details to feel like you were watching a completely new show by season 5? That's actually kind of a win (cheaper than a reboot, right).

Life's basically one long recurring déjà vu with different packaging.

And that's exactly what happened with me honestly lol. By season 5 I had totally forgotten this whole storyline about the main character's cousin who turned out to be working for the villains. When she popped back up I was so confused I had to google it. It definitely made the later seasons feel fresh even though I had technically already seen them. But I think the weirdest part was how different some characters felt to me the second time around. Like that one annoying side character I used to hate suddenly seemed way more sympathetic after I had gone through the last few seasons. It's wild how your own life changes can totally shift how you connect with a show even years later. Did you find yourself rooting for different people by the end than you did at the beginning?
