I always figured it was just another overhyped cop show from the 2000s, but my brother-in-law kept pushing it during our Christmas visit. Three episodes in and I already apologized to him for being so stubborn about it.

Stick with it through season 2 even if it feels slow at first (everyone says that, trust me). Season 3 and 4 are where it really hits its stride and you'll see why people won't shut up about it.
