I finally snapped during that slow episode in season 3 of The Bear

I was on my couch in Denver last Thursday, watching the episode where they just stand around in the kitchen for what felt like 20 minutes. My partner asked me why I was gripping the remote so hard. I told her I nearly threw it at the TV because nothing was happening, so I skipped ahead 10 minutes and missed nothing important. Has anyone else hit that point with a show where you just had to fast forward through the filler?

That one slow episode in The Bear actually changed my whole opinion on those kind of scenes because I used to love the long quiet pauses in shows like Mad Men or Better Call Saul. I always told my friends the silence added to the tension and made the show feel more real, but watching Carmy just stare at a counter for minutes straight made me finally grab my remote and skip ahead. Now I get why people call it filler, sometimes a slow burn just turns into a wet match that won't light.

Tbh those pauses in Mad Men were way different though, that show breathed through silence.
