My binge of The Bear backfired hard on a Sunday night
I was 6 episodes deep in season 2 of The Bear at my apartment in Portland when my laptop died because I forgot to plug it in during the last episode. Anybody else had their binge completely wrecked by a simple thing like a dead battery?

Portland is a great city for bingeing though with all the rain. More than once I've had my cat knock my power cord out while I was mid episode of something and by the time I found it the battery was almost dead. Now I always have a backup battery pack charged up just for those moments.

Man I totally get that feeling of being completely derailed by something stupid like a dead battery. I used to think a laptop dying on me was no big deal, just plug it in and keep going. But after a few times where the momentum got completely killed and I lost that immersion in the story, it changed my mind. Now I'm super paranoid about keeping my charger nearby and setting a reminder to plug in before the last episode. It's amazing how one little thing can wreck a whole binge session.

The backup battery pack is a solid move. Nothing kills a good show faster than scrambling for the cord like a fool while the battery icon turns red and starts screaming at you. I've gotten to the point where I treat my laptop like a fussy toddler that needs constant supervision around charging time. Must be nice living in Portland where the rain gives you an excuse to hunker down and get lost in a series for hours on end. Down here I just have to pretend it's raining and hide from my own responsibilities.
