My friend called my watch list 'chronologically safe' and it stung
They said I only pick shows that are over and have a solid ending, which means I'm always late to the party. I started ONE current show, 'The Regime' on HBO, and the weekly wait is killing me but the group chats are fun. Anyone else have a watch habit they had to break?

Why is that a bad habit? You get to skip all the filler seasons and just watch the good stuff.

Yeah I get what you're saying about skipping filler, but that approach backfired real bad for me once. I tried that with a show my whole group was watching and jumped straight to season 4 because everyone said seasons 2 and 3 were slow. Ended up missing a whole character death that got referenced like five times an episode and I had no clue what anyone was talking about. @the_willow is right honestly, because that stuff sticks with you even if you think it's boring at first. The setup is half the fun even when it drags. Now I just suffer through the dumb seasons like everyone else and at least I can nod along when people talk about it.

But what about the inside jokes and callbacks later on? You miss all the setup for those cool moments if you jump straight to the "good" seasons.

My buddy binged a whole series after the finale aired and felt totally left out of the watercooler talk for months.
