My mom always stops our mystery show to bring up old family stories.

Remember when TV actually had commercial breaks you had to wait through? My sister and I had this whole system for our favorite Saturday morning cartoons. We'd race to do quick chores during the ads, like folding a blanket or grabbing more cereal. It made the show feel like a bigger event, you know? Now everything just plays the next episode automatically. Kinda miss those forced little pauses sometimes.

Read an article about how those forced breaks actually helped our brains process what we watched. Susanb34 might find that silly, but it makes sense to me. We've lost those natural stopping points that gave shows more weight.
