Remember when people used to watch one episode a week instead of the whole season in a weekend?
I just tried watching The Bear the old way, one episode every few days, and it felt way more satisfying than binging Succession in 3 days last month, anyone else feel like slow watching builds the tension better?

Totally get what you mean. I started doing that with The Last of Us and it made each episode hit so much harder, like a proper weekly event rather than just another checkbox on a list. Binging always blurs the details for me too, you miss those little moments that would stick with you if you sat with them a few days (like the sad piano scene in episode 3, man). Slow watching just feels more intentional and respectful of the story.

Man, that piano scene wrecked me too @joel_jones. I tried slow watching with Succession and by the time the next episode rolled around I'd forgotten who was stabbing who in the back, which is like half the show's charm. Guess my goldfish brain just isn't built for the respectful viewing experience.

Respectful of the story" is a good way to put it. I wonder though, does that respect extend to the showrunners? Like, do you feel like you're getting the intended experience by spacing it out, or just your own preferred version of it? I ask because I tried that with a few shows and ended up forgetting key plot points between weeks, so I'm curious if it backfires for you sometimes.
