That stat about how many shows Netflix cancels after one season really got me

I was reading a breakdown on a streaming stats site last night and saw that over 60% of Netflix original series don't make it past season two. It makes me wonder if anyone else hesitates before starting a new show on there, knowing you might get left hanging.

The real loss is the shows that never even got greenlit because of that cancel-happy track record.

I've actually got a buddy who's a showrunner, and he told me he had three fully developed pilots ready to pitch to Netflix back in 2020. After seeing how fast they axed shows like "The OA" and "GLOW," he scrapped all three and shifted to pitching to HBO Max instead. Two of those got picked up there because HBO was more willing to commit to a full season order up front. Have you seen similar shifts away from the usual streaming giants lately?

I mean, at least it frees up those actors to do something better.
