Tried to binge-watch Severance in one night and my streaming app crashed 4 times

I got super into Severance last Saturday and tried to marathon the whole season in one go, but my TV app kept freezing right at the cliffhangers. After the fourth crash I gave up and switched to watching on my laptop instead, which worked fine but killed the cozy vibe. Anyone else have streaming apps totally break when you try to binge a whole season back to back?

Wait, do other people actually have their streaming apps crash that much? I used to think it was just my crappy internet or my old TV causing the problem. But after trying to binge House of the Dragon last month and my app crashed like 5 times during the finale, I realized it's probably the app itself not handling all that back to back streaming. I mean, I was actually getting mad at my WiFi for nothing. Now I just watch on my tablet or laptop if I'm planning a long binge session, it sucks but at least I don't lose the vibe completely.

Moving to a laptop fixed my binging too, so I totally get it.

Yo @jakejones, I read somewhere that it's actually the apps themselves choking on the autoplay and buffering logic when you marathon stuff, not your wifi. Something about how they prioritize the next episode load over keeping the current stream stable. Makes sense because my laptop never crashes either, even on the same connection.
