Was rewatching The Last Kingdom and caught a weird historical detail

I found out that Uhtred's character is about 90% fictional - the real guy from that time was just a minor noble mentioned in a few old charters. It blew my mind because they built this whole epic saga around him. Has anyone else stumbled across a show that totally made up its "historical" lead?

The real Uhtred actually signed a charter in 1018, which is weirdly specific for a guy who's supposed to be a legend.

Gotta push back on that one @knight.felix. Sure the show mixes stuff up but the core of Uhtred is way more real than people give credit for. The Anglo-Saxon Chronicle has records of a real Uhtred the Bold who was a big deal in Northumbria around that same time, so it's not like they just pulled him out of thin air.
