Watched Dark on Netflix with subtitles then tried the English dub, lasted 20 mins

So last weekend I decided to rewatch Dark on Netflix since season 3 dropped and I forgot half the plot. First time around I did the English dub because I was being lazy, but my roommate kept saying the subtitles were way better. I gave the subs a shot this time and wow, the dub skips so much creepy dialogue and the voice acting sounds like a bad video game. The lip sync in the dub was always off too and it kept pulling me out of the story. Anyone else refuse to watch foreign shows with dubbing or is it just me being picky?
