Overheard a guy at the gym say 'most people quit right before the breakthrough' and realized he was talking about my whole life

I was on the leg press last Thursday and some dude in his 50s told his buddy that most people quit when things get hard, like 2 weeks before something good happens. It hit me hard because I quit my side gig selling vintage records after only 3 months of trying. I spent like $400 on inventory and packing supplies and just gave up when I only made back $150. Now I'm wondering if I quit too soon on other stuff too. Has anyone else looked back and realized they stopped right before something might have worked?

Have you ever gone back to check if that vintage record thing would have taken off? Because I had a similar feeling about a little Etsy shop I started and abandoned. I honestly wonder sometimes if I just needed to push through one more slow month. The gym guy might be onto something when he says people quit too soon. It stings to think about all the effort we put in only to stop before we see results. But hey, you live and you learn, right?

Man I've kicked myself over that record thing more times than I care to admit. The worst part is I still have a storage unit full of them I've been meaning to list online for three years now. That gym guy has a point about timing. If I'd stuck it out a few more months I might have caught that vinyl resurgence wave. It's a real gut punch to think about but yeah, you live and you learn.

Wait you have a whole storage unit FULL of them? And you haven't listed them yet? That's wild man, that's like sitting on a goldmine and not cashing in.
