The cashier at Trader Joe's called out my snack math in front of everyone

Last Tuesday I was buying 12 bags of the chili lime chips at the one on 14th Street, and the guy at the register goes, "You know these are gonna go stale before you even open the third one, right?" He was totally serious, and then he rang up a 13th bag for me "to prove the point." I stood there doing the math in my head while the line behind me stared, and honestly, he was right. Has anyone else had a stranger just casually wreck your whole grocery strategy like that?

Wait, he just grabbed a 13th bag off the shelf and rang it up like that? That's wild. The whole line just watched him do it. I'd have been too stunned to even argue. Honestly though, that cashier is kind of a hero. I've eaten stale chips from a big sale haul more times than I want to admit. He probably just saved you from a sad snack situation three weeks from now.
