The spreadsheet that exposed my friend's loan promise last Tuesday

I was at a coffee shop on 3rd and Main when my buddy asked to borrow $500 for his car repair, promising repayment in two weeks. I opened my shared budgeting sheet to check my cash flow and noticed his name next to a $300 entry from five months ago that he never paid back. Why do people think I will forget just because I do not bring it up?

Did he know you saw that old $300 entry before he asked for $500?

That $300 number is kind of the point though. If he knew you'd seen it, asking for $500 isn't some sneaky move, it's just him shooting his shot. You can always say no or counter with the old price.
