My book club almost split over how we pick our next read
For the past year, our group of eight in Austin has voted on books, but it always turned into a popularity contest where the same two people won. Last month, I suggested a rotation system where each member gets a full month to pick, no questions asked. We tried it starting in January, and the first pick was a graphic novel, something we'd never have voted for. Half the group loved the change, saying it brought in fresh stuff. The other half thinks it's unfair and we might get stuck with a bad book for weeks. Has your club ever switched up how you choose, and did it cause drama?
