A simple book discussion led to our street picking sides over a fence
Last month, our book club read a novel about family feuds. We argued for hours about if the main character was right to forgive her sister. This debate spilled into our neighborhood chat group when someone compared it to the Jones and Smith feud over fence lines. Before we knew it, people were picking sides based on the book, not the actual property dispute. It got so silly that at the block party, folks were avoiding each other based on their book opinions. We had to call a truce by agreeing to read a comedy next.
