A simple book discussion led to our street picking sides over a fence
Last month, our book club read a novel about family feuds. We argued for hours about if the main character was right to forgive her sister. This debate spilled into our neighborhood chat group when someone compared it to the Jones and Smith feud over fence lines. Before we knew it, people were picking sides based on the book, not the actual property dispute. It got so silly that at the block party, folks were avoiding each other based on their book opinions. We had to call a truce by agreeing to read a comedy next.

The book's feud was about betrayal, not property lines like Jones and Smith.

Ugh, that hits harder than a fight over some fence. You're totally right, @michael_robinson36, it cuts way deeper.

Remember that scene in Captain's Gold where the whole betrayal was over a missing ship log? Always felt like both guys were just too proud to back down. Calling it a deep cut seems like giving their stubbornness too much credit. Real betrayal needs more than hurt feelings over who was right.

Man, calling that a deep cut is like saying my nephews' fight over a video game controller is a family feud. Those captains were basically just two old guys bickering over who lost the TV remote. Real betrayal needs sharper knives than bruised egos.
