Can we discuss rotating who picks the discussion questions?

We tried this last month, and in my experience, it led to more balanced debates. Your mileage may vary, but it's something to think about.

Wait, you actually tried letting everyone pick questions last month? That week got so messy with random topics. Not sure it's worth doing again.

omg jason_lewis3 you said it got messy but "random topics" is putting it lightly. last month someone asked about the best way to organize a sock drawer and it had 200 replies. another person wanted to debate if hot dogs are sandwiches and it got so mean. total chaos but low key i lived for the drama.

See the chaos in Mia's story as how you find hidden gems.

Tbh, we had a similar setup in my hiking group where we took turns planning routes. One guy picked this crazy trail that was basically a cliff face, and half the group bailed halfway through. It turned into a whole thing about who gets to choose activities and how to balance fun with safety. Honestly, sometimes letting everyone have a say just leads to chaos, but other times you find cool spots you'd never try otherwise.
