One great book club night turned around my whole week
Last Tuesday my book club met at a local cafe in Portland and we got into this huge discussion about the ending of 'The House in the Cerulean Sea'. Usually we have one or two people who talk the whole time while everyone else zones out. But this time every single person had something to say. One woman shared how the book reminded her of her own foster brother and it got really emotional. Another guy argued that the author was too soft on the whole 'society accepts outsiders' thing. I didn't even check my phone once which is rare for me. By the end we went 45 minutes over our usual time and nobody wanted to leave. Has anyone else had a book club night that just clicked perfectly out of nowhere?
