Our book club's 'The Great Gatsby' meeting turned into a real fight last month.

It started when Sarah said Daisy was just a victim of her time, but Mark shot back that she was selfish and cruel. Voices got loud, and someone even quoted the book, saying, "They were careless people," to make a point. It got so heated that our host had to step in and change the subject. Has your group ever had a debate that almost broke up the meeting?

Wait, someone actually quoted the "careless people" line in the middle of a fight? That's wild. Like, pulling out the book to win an argument is next level. I can just see it, someone holding the paperback up like a lawyer with evidence. That line is such a direct shot, too. It would make the room go silent for a second before it got even louder.

Oh man, @wilson.joseph, you never pull out the book. That's a declaration of war. You just say the line with a straight face and let it hang there.

Nah, pulling out the book is the ultimate power move. It shows you're not just making it up, you brought receipts. The silence after is way better.
