Saw a debate in my book club about whether poetry counts as a 'real' book genre
Last Tuesday someone argued that poetry collections shouldn't be included in our reading list, but I pointed out that 3 of our best discussions came from poetry books like Milk and Honey. Has anyone else's club had this argument about poetry vs novels?

Yeah but does the poetry actually get people talking or do they just sit there nodding? I've been to a few open mics where the poems were deep but nobody knew how to follow up with a real discussion after. Like what's the difference between a poetry night that works and one that falls flat?
