Went to a book club at a local coffee shop and they served tea in mason jars

The host swore it was rustic and charming, but I spent half the debate on *East of Eden* trying not to burn my fingers on the glass. Has anyone else had their book club meeting derailed by questionable beverage containers?

But what if the real problem isn't the jar, it's that your host picked a story with that many layers for a caffeine buzz setting?

Does the rustic farmhouse vibe ever actually help the tea taste better, or is that just in your head?

Honestly, I have to push back on this a little. I actually love the mason jar thing at book clubs. My local spot, The Daily Brew, does it and it adds a cozy vibe that matches the whole indie coffee shop feel. The key is they use double-walled glass ones so they don't burn your hands. Maybe your host just grabbed regular jars without thinking about the heat. Plus, I think it makes the tea taste more rustic or something, like you're at a farmhouse discussing literature. Not every container has to be a ceramic mug to work, you just need a little prep.
