Finally cut off my cousin after she borrowed $200 and never paid it back
She asked for money last March to fix her car and promised to pay me back by June. When I brought it up in August she said I was being greedy and that was it for me. Has anyone else dealt with family acting like you're the bad guy for expecting them to keep their word?

You're right, the guilt trips are the worst part. I used to believe that family was different, you know, that they'd keep their word because they're supposed to care about you. But after my own brother borrowed $150 for his electric bill and then laughed it off saying I should be happy to help family, I realized some people just see you as a resource. It changed my whole view on lending money to relatives, and now I just say no from the start to avoid all this drama.

Oh man, tell me about it. My sister did the exact same thing last week when I told her I couldn't watch her kids last minute. She started listing off all the times she's helped me out like five years ago and made me feel like I owed her something lol. Like, I get we're supposed to be there for family but the guilt trips are just ridiculous. It's always "remember when I did this for you" instead of just being like "hey I get it, no problem." Family's wild like that.
