Had to choose between my best friend and my fiance after she lied about the bachelor party

Picked my fiance after I found out my best friend planned a strip club surprise behind my back and when I confronted him he called her controlling, so now I'm planning a wedding without a best man and wondering if anyone else has cut off a childhood friend for a partner.

Actually the strip club thing is kinda on you too, not just him. You told him no strippers and he ignored that, thats a betrayal of trust no doubt. But calling your fiance controlling for not wanting strippers at a bachelor party is wild. Most partners would be upset about that, its not unreasonable. Cutting off a childhood friend is hard but you gotta ask yourself if he would've respected other boundaries down the line.

Two of my friends did the exact same thing to their fiancees and both marriages ended within 2 years, so yeah, red flag city. Once someone shows you they'll steamroll a clear boundary for a "fun" night, it's never just that one time.

Honestly I feel like half my relationship advice comes from bad reality TV and I still manage to do better than this guy did. The stripper thing is wild because you literally drew one clear line and he crossed it, thats not about being controlling thats about basic respect. I blew up at my partner once for eating my leftover pizza, I cant imagine how I'd react if they hired a stripper after I said no. Cutting off a childhood friend is brutal but its like finding out your go-to coffee shop is secretly serving decaf, you gotta reevaluate the whole thing. He showed you exactly where his priorities lie and it wasnt with your trust.
