That friend who ghosted me after I loaned them $400 came back begging for help 6 months later

I ignored their text and blocked them for good after they tried to guilt me with a sob story about their car breaking down, has anyone else had to cut off someone who only shows up when they need money?

The same thing happened to me with my cousin who still owes me $300 from two years ago.

Hear me out, I get why you think that, but I actually see it a little differently. Some people really do just hit a rough patch and feel too ashamed to face you until they can fix things.

Did you ever get a straight answer from them about why they ghosted you in the first place? Because in my experience, people like that usually have a pattern of doing the same thing over and over. They figure out who will feel guilty enough to help, then they disappear again once they get what they want. It's not really about the car or the money, it's about them knowing you are a soft touch. Blocking them was the right call, you probably saved yourself a lot more headaches down the road. Did they even mention paying back the $400 when they came crawling back?
