The voicemail that made me delete my aunt's number for good

My aunt left me a 2 minute voicemail last spring saying I was 'too sensitive' after I skipped her dinner party. She brought up my ex and my job in the same breath, then laughed. I sat in my car outside the grocery store in Fort Wayne and just stared at the phone. I deleted her contact right there and haven't looked back. Has anyone else had a relative use your own life story against you to win an argument?

Man, that hit close to home. My grandma once brought up my failed engagement during a fight about me not calling her enough, and I hung up mid sentence. Honestly, cutting people off like that feels drastic but sometimes it's the only way to keep your own head straight.

Cutting ties with your grandma over that seems harsh, just saying.
