Took me 3 years to fix a leaky faucet that was a 30 minute job
I had this bathroom sink faucet that dripped nonstop for years. I finally took it apart last week and the rubber washer inside was just flipped wrong. Cost me $1.50 at Ace Hardware in Portland and 30 minutes of my time. Anyone else sit on something simple way too long before dealing with it?

Oh man, did I ever do this with my car trunk not latching right? Kept having to slam it for like a year before I actually looked at it. Turned out a random leaf had gotten stuck in the latch mechanism, I just pulled it out with tweezers and it's worked perfectly ever since. Felt like such a dummy wasting all that time and effort wrestling with something that took two minutes to fix. The whole time I was convinced it was some big expensive problem too!

My buddy Kevin had a similar thing with his garage door opener. It would stop halfway down and then go back up every time, drove him nuts for weeks. Finally called a repair guy and it turned out the sensor was just slightly dusty, he wiped it with a rag and it cost him nothing but the shame of explaining it to his wife.
