A regular asked me to teach her how to break down a chicken last Saturday

She watched me do it for a few minutes then said 'can you slow down?' and I realized I had been rushing for no reason lol. I showed her step by step and she got it by the third try. Anyone else had a moment like that at the counter?

Oh man, that reminds me of when I tried to teach my neighbor to sharpen her kitchen knives! I was zipping through it like a maniac because I've done it so many times it's muscle memory. She finally just put her hand on mine and said "stop, slow down" and I realized I was being totally unhelpful. Once I broke it down into super basic moves one at a time, she actually picked it up way faster than I expected. It's so easy to forget that what feels automatic to you is totally new to someone else.

Wait, is that why my neighbor still won't let me near her knives?
