Had a walk-in freezer fail on a Friday in July

The alarm went off at 7 AM and the temp was already at 45 degrees. We had just taken in a whole side of beef from a local farm the day before. Had to move everything to our backup unit across town in under two hours, lost about $200 worth of ground product that we couldn't save. Anyone else have a good plan for a sudden freezer breakdown?

Oh man, that's the worst, we lost a whole salmon order the same way last summer.

Actually losing that salmon might have been a good thing. Think about how many people got sick from bad seafood last year. A spoiled order getting thrown out shows the system works. Better to lose some money than to make customers really ill. Your loss proves you guys actually care about safety over profit. That's something to be proud of, not upset about.

Forty-five degrees at seven AM? That's cooked.
